Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The 1st scientific conference "Shirvan school of Azerbaijani literature. Classical Literary Tradition and Modernity ", dedicated to the classical poets of Shirvan was held. The leader and organizer of the project was a member of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan (SPA), writer and publicist Metanet Ulu Shirvanli.

At the conference, Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami, Academician Isa Habibbeyli stressed the importance of regular holding such literary and scientific conferences and appealing to the creativity of poets of other regions. It was noted that in the near future scientific conferences would also be organized in a number of regions.

The conference addressed the poetry of Khagani Shirvani, Seyid Azim Shirvani, Muhammed Hadi, Mirza Alakbar Sabir.

Professors Alkhan Bayramoghlu, Imamverdi Hamidov, Doctor of Philology Matanat Vahidova, Islam Garibli and Ph.D. in philology Khadija Iskenderli gave presentations on classical poets.

The head of the trade union organization of the authors of scientific and literary works Mehmet Nuru Parmaksyz, the head of the press service of the SPA Khayal Rza, the employee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Elgun Aliyev told about the significance of the scientific conference.

Participants of the event expressed their opinions and suggestions regarding the classical Shirvan poets.

In conclusion, the project manager, Metanet Ulu Shirvanli, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Institute and the participants of the event.
