Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On May 5, by joint organization of ANAS Institute of Law and Human Rights, The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lawyers' Association of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea countries, took place a scientific-theoretic conference on topic “Modern theoretical and practical approaches in defense of the constitutional values of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

Reporting at the event director of the institute Dr. Law Ayten Mustafazade stated that, being a guarantee of national-moral values of Azerbaijan people and trying to protect them in all periods, national leader Heydar Aliyev’s merits done for comprehensive progress of science and education result positively today.

After gaining independence a new legislative code relied on international experience in the field of defending human law and rights, was elaborated and all previous normative legal base was renewed, necessary law institutes, including Constitutional Court and Academic Institute for Human Rights were established, said A. Mustafazade.

The scientist noted that, currently, at the organization led by her, are carried out fulfillments in the direction of monitoring of prisoners, protection of rights of the refugees and internally displaced persons in the international arena, as well as caused the economic damage. 

Then, chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev reported and stated that, as a result of high efforts of national leader, new criteria of human rights system have been defined in an modern society by taking account importance of international law principles. All these steps lead to integration of national legislative system to the global legal space.

At the conference the chairman of the Lawyers' Association of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea countries Ilham Rahimov stressed out that, this event has already become a tradition.

In the event Deputy Director of the Law and Human Rights Institute for Science Nazim Jafarov, made a presentation “On some issues of Heydar Aliyev's statehood conception”, chief of State and Constitutional Law department Aykhan Rustamzade "The function of attorney and representation in the defense of violated rights and freedoms”, Constitutional Court Judge Kamran Shafiyev "Some aspects of the equality right”, chief of Constitutional Law department of the Constitutional Court Durdana Mammadova “The idea of constitutional law and legal culture", chief of the same organization's department Sabina Babayeva “Defense of human law and rights in the democratic society” etc.
