International conference "Heydar Aliyev-youth-multiculturalism" held in Germany

On 11 May, an international theoretical and practical conference on the theme "Heydar Aliyev-youth-multiculturalism" was held in Augsburg, Germany, dedicated to the 94th anniversary of the birth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the event, the director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Academician Mukhtar Imanov spoke on "Ideas of Tolerance and Multiculturalism in Azerbaijani Folklore". The scientist noted that in the epic "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud", Azerbaijani bayati, proverbs and legends there are ideas of multiculturalism.

The academician highly appreciated the book "Literary and artistic sources of Azerbaijani multiculturalism", published by BMCM, as an important research work conducted in this direction.

At the event, reports were given by the professor of the Turkic faculty of the University of Mainz, Hendrik Buschoten, "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud and the Song of the Nibelungs - the experience of joint analysis", Professor of the Faculty of Philology and History of the University of Augsburg Klaus Wolf "Friedrich Rukert and Azerbaijan", student of the same university Christina Bossauer- Groys "East and West" of Nussimbaum ", a student at the Sofia University of Bulgaria Momchila Shopova" Multiculturalism in Azerbaijani literature of the Middle Ages ".

State Counselor for Interethnic Issues, Multiculturalism and Religion, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BMCM, Academician Kamal Abdullayev presented a report on "Literary, artistic and socio-political sources of Azerbaijan's multiculturalism". He noted that respect for the peoples belonging to different religions and languages and sincere friendly attitude to them took a special place in the work of our first classics, poets of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and also writers-democrats.

Noting that the great leader Heydar Aliyev systematically developed the socio-political foundations of multiculturalism in the name of preserving multicultural and tolerant values in Azerbaijan, K. Abdullayev said that a number of decrees, orders and Constitutional points had been adopted in this direction.

In the second half of the day, the conference continued its work in the sectional session on "Comparative Multiculturalism".

At the end of the meeting the members of the Club "Young Friends of Azerbaijan" accepted an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev.

At the official closing ceremony of the conference, academician Kamal Abdullayev expressed gratitude for the support provided to the Club "Young Friends of Azerbaijan", the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism and the University of Augsburg.
