ANAS Institute of Bioresources of Nakhchivan Division, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Nakhchivan, Faculty of Natural Science and Agriculture of Nakhchivan State University hosted scientific conference dedicated to the May 22-International Day of Biodiversity.

At the event, Director of the Institute of Bioresources, Academician Tariel Talibov in his speech spoke about the current state of biodiversity, the various laws and regulations adopted in this country, studies conducted by its structure.

The conference delivered reports by head of the Laboratory of fruit growing, vegetable growing and viticulture, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Varis Guliyev on "The role of the biodiversity of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of fruit and berry plants in food security", head of Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Shovgi Aliyev on "Conservation in Nakhchivan autonomous Republic", Deputy dean of the Faculty of Natural and agricultural Nakhchivan state Univversity, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Hilal Gasimov on "The role of wild vegetable plants in the biodiversity of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic".

Further, Head of the Plant Systematics Department of the Institute of Bioresources, Professor Aliyar Ibragimov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Ismail Mammadov, Ph.D in Biology, Assistant Professor Anvar Ibragimov, Head of the Department of Zoological Research, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Akif Bayramov and Head of the Soil Resources Laboratory Sahib Hajiyev spoke on the topic.
