Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Presidium of ANAS made a decision on change the names of some institutes of ANAS on February 27.

President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh noted that, dynamical development of science and information technologies and emergence of new research directions requires expansion of the activities of some institutions.

According to the decision, after that Institute of Cybernetics of ANAS will be called as Institute of Control Systems, Institute of Chemical Problems - Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, Institute of Geology - Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Mardakan Arboretum - Dendrology, Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law - Institute of Philosophy and Law, Scientific Research Institute for Human Rights - Institute for Conflict and Human Rights.

The aim is to establish modern management systems, development of modern researches in the area of development of physical and chemical bases of catalysis, study of geological science with geophysical, cosmic and mathematical methods, applying of information technologies.

Renaming Scientific Research Institute for Human Rights as Institute for Conflict and Human Rights serves to study colflictology.
