Uzbekistan People Poet Jamal Kamal’s 80th jubilee celebrated in ANAS

Institute of Literature of ANAS after Nizami Ganjavi has held the international scientific conference on topic “Jamal Kamal and Azerbaijan literature” devoted to the 80th jubilee of People Poet of Uzbekistan Jamal Kamal.

The event was realized by co-organization of Institute of Literature of ANAS, Azerbaijan Culture Center after Heydar Aliyev under Embassy of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Friendship Society.

Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academic Isa Habibbeyli made speech on Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, and stated that, in latest years cultural-literal ties between two countries have enhanced. He noted that, last year the Department of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan literary relations, was operated and several books have been published as a result of studies carried out.

“Jamal Kamal has exceptional merits in development of literary relations between two countries”, - said academic and notified that, currently poet is working over translation of Nizami Ganjavi’s “Khamsa” into Uzbek language.

Uzbekistan underpins our country’s right attitude in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in an international arena as well, he added.

Then, Member of Parliament Ganira Pashayeva reported at the event and said that Jamal Kamal gave special importance to the Azerbaijan literature. J. Kamal has translated works of Azerbaijan poet Muhammad Fuzuli, Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, Khalil Rza Uluturk and other poets into Uzbek language.

Head of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan literary relations Department, Dr. Philology Almaz Ulvi delivered a lecture on " Prominent Uzbek representative of 60s generation of literature - Jamal Kamal”, senior researcher Dr. Philology Yashar Gasimbeyli on "Senior live classic of contemporary Uzbek poetry, People Poet Jamal Kamal", the institute's doctoral student Sanubar Samadova on ”Azerbaijan traces in Jamal Kamal’s creativity”, co-chairman of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Ph. D, Philology and Associate Professor Gulbahor Ashurova on " Jamal Kamal's life and creativity” etc.

In closing, Jamal Kamal expressed his gratitude to the event organizers and attendees.
