Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The presentation of websites of the “Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia” Scientific Center, functioning attached to the Presidium of ANAS and system of Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia was held.

Event brought together the specialists of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS (IIT) and responsible people of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia.

In advance, chief department of the IIT Gulnara Nabibeyova informed about website of the center ame-merkez.gov.az. She said that the website developed by specialists of the institute was adopted to the “Requirments on the creation and management of Internet information resources of the governmental bodies” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of AR, and to the requirements of AR Special State Security Service, privacy was fully ensured.

Operating in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages, the site's Home page consists of "About Us", "Structure", "Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia", "News", "Official Documents", "Announcements" and "Gallery" sections. The comprehensive search engine, map and other useful links are available on the website, which was developed with the latest technologies.

Sector chief of the institute Afruz Gurbanova spoke of website’s “News” section and noted that, data about center’s activity, events and meetings organized here, new editions, interview and speeches can be posted on the website.

Later on, researcher of the institute Yusif Sadiyev has presented website of system of the Azerbaijan National Encyclopedia - ensiklopedia.gov.az. As for him, the system having direct access from the website, compiles encyclopedic dictionaries and their explanations in online form, and this process is ongoing.

Y.Sadiyev informed on the search engine of website and stated that it is possible to search on word, alphabet and volume in the system.

In closing, exchange of view was carried out on the commissioning of website and sounded several suggestions.
