Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS after Academic Z.M.Bunyadov has held a scientific session devoted to the Arab emigrant writer Amin ar-Reyhani’s 140th jubilee, June 14.

Opening the session, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Academic Govhar Bakhshaliyeva said that, being a distinguished representative of Arab emigrant literature –Amin ar-Reyhani is one of the respective persons both in Arabic and world literature criticism. For the first time in former Soviet period, Aida Imanguliyeva systematically studied the Arabic emigrant literature and devoted some her studies to Amin ar-Reyhani.

Senior researcher of the Arabic philology department of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Ph.D. in Philosophy Fatma Majidova delivered a lecture on “Arab East in the Amin ar-Reyhani’s creativity”. Lecturer dealt with writer’s creativity related to Arab East period, his voyages to the Arabic countries and works.

Chief of Arabic Philology Department, Dr. Philosophy Vilayat Jafarov made a presentation on “Amin ar-Reyhani’s Iraq impressions”, senior researchers of the East-West Department – Ph.D. in Philosophy Mahir Hamidov on “Amin ar-Reyhani’s “Arabian spring” notion and its social-philosophical essence”, and Khuraman Aliyeva on “Aida Imanguliyeva as a researcher of East-West literary relations”.
