Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Meeting devoted to December 1 - World Civil Defense Day was held at Institute of Botany.

The event was opened by the director of the institute, Professor Valida Ali - Zadeh and she stressed the importance of research activities carried out in order to educate employees .

Chief of staff of the institute Nazim Khalilov noted that, World Civil Defense Day was celebrated on March 1 every year in all over the world since 1972 and Azerbaijan entered to the organization in 1993. He noted that ceremonies for 2014 year were dedicated to “Culture of preventing emergencies for Civil Defense and safe community” theme.

 During the event, the importance of civil defense system , its role in security services complex , instructions for natural disasters , industrial accidents were sounded .

Reviews and suggestions were sounded by the head of Geobotany Department of the Institute, PhD in biology Vakil Khalilov , employer of Department of Plant Resources , PhD in biology Faig Rasulov and other employees about civil defense .
