Academician, honored worker of science Musa Musayev’s 95th anniversary was celebrated at Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov, an academician and secretary of the Department of Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences emphasized Musa Musayev’s exceptional role inAzerbaijani science.He actively participated in the former USSR as the first researcher of leptospirosis, closely participated in the planning of scientific researches in this area, wrote articles and monographs, the scientist stated.

Director of the Institute of Zoology ANAS, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Elman Yusifov delivered a report entitled "About academician Musa Musaev’s life and activity ". The reporter said that M. Mussaev established protozoanology scientific school. E.Ysifov drew attention to the fact that as a result of academician’s researches the study of specific, systematics and biochemical features of primaries.

Professors Shaig Ibrahimov, Vagif Verdiyev and Dr on biology Turkan Gurbanova shared their memories about the scientist.

At the ceremony, the newly-established "Musical Musa Musa Award" was presented. Phd in biology Barat Akhmedov deserved to "Best Scientific Director of the Year", Dr in biology Sujaddin Guliyev "The most successful scientist of the year”, Phd Khalid Aliyev" Best Laboratory Manager of the Year ", Phd Sabina Hasanova" Best Young Scientist of the Year ", Phd Sabina Bunyatova, Shahzade Madatova and Konul Tagiyeva “ The best public activist "and Herpetalogy Laboratory awarded with the" Best Laboratory of the Year " nomination.

At the end of the event, the film dedicated to M.Musaev "Life dedicated to science" was demonstrated.
