Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan visited ANAS

President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, academician Akif Alizadeh met with Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan Husn-bey Fanani.

During the meeting, head of ANAS informed about the history and activity of the Academy and important studies and noted the importance of expanding and continuing the development of scientific cooperation between the countries. The academician said that the Indonesian territory was particularly advantageous for joint research by geologists and seismologists.

Ambassador Hüsnan Bey Fanani said that friendly relations between the two countries have ancient historical roots, adding that relations between Indonesia and Azerbaijan are expanding in economic, political and cultural spheres, and stressed the importance of developing cooperation with the relevant institutions in the scientific field.

The meeting continued with discussion of future prospects of scientific cooperation. A memorandum will be signed between Azerbaijani and Indonesian scientific institutions in the near future.

Academician Akif Alizadeh presented the book "World Atlas of Mud Volcanoes" published for the first time in the world by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS and "Faces of ANAS" published on the occasion of 70th Anniversary of ANAS to the ambassador.

The meeting was attended by vice-president of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliev, head of International Relations Department, PhD in biology Esmira Alirzayeva, head of Public Relations and Science Department Zulfugar Farzaliyev.
