Within the framework of the "Horizon-2020" program a group of ANAS staff conducts research in Austria and Georgia

Within the framework of the project "Knowledge Sharing and Academic Achievements in the Humanities, Europe and the Black Sea Region, End of the 18th - 21st Centuries", funded by the "Horizon-2020" program, a group of ANAS staff is conducting scientific research in Austria and Georgia.

The project, which started in January 2017, will last for 4 years. 12 countries participate in the project (Austria, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine, Macedonia, Moldova, Russia, etc.). The coordinator of the project is the head of the Department of History and Anthropology of Southeast Europe, Graz University of Austria named after Karl and Franz, Professor Karl Kaiser. The National Coordinator for Azerbaijan is a member of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, the Doctor of Philosophy in History Zaur Hasanov.

The first stage of the project was held on January 14 of this year in Batumi State University after Shota Rustaveli in Georgia. Here was held the first technical and theoretical seminar. The seminar was held by Karl Kaiser and the employee of the department headed by him, Professor Dominik Gutmeir.

8 employees of ANAS were involved in the project. On June 12, employees of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Ph.D. in History Zaur Gasanov and Orkhan Zamanov conducted the first scientific mission at the University of Graz.

From July 8 to August 1, a delegation of 7 employees of ANAS was seconded to the Batumi State University. Sh. Rustaveli. This delegation included the staff of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography - Ph.D. in History Safar Ashurov, Farhad Guliyev, Perviz Gasimov, Khagani Almamedov and Valeh Alekperov, as well as employees of the Baikikhanov Institute of History - Irada Bagirova, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Ph.D in history Shamil Rahmanzadeh.

During the trip, ANAS employees participate in meetings intended for scientific exchange, conduct research on research topics, get acquainted with archaeological monuments, and continue research in libraries, research centers and archives.

The participants' mission will be completed in September.
