Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

International Congress on “Dialogue of Languages and Culture in Eurasian Educational Market”, organized by Central Scientific Library (CSL) and Russian Association of Azerbaijanis started.

Three days event will guest public members, honors, rectors and vice rectors from Azerbaijan, Russia, Moldova, Latvia, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan and Tadjikistan.

The congress also hosted a presentation of over 300 books handed by the Russian immigrant home.

Deputy Mikhail Zabelin, chairman of the Russian Association of Azerbaijanis emphasized bilateral relations of the two friendly and neighboring countries, interrelated political, economic, scientific and technical contacts. This event is a great impulse to the further development of the relations, the speaker stated.

Vice President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the relations between the scientific centers of both countries and their development perspectives. The scientist said that he always showed great interest in Russian literature in Azerbaijan and shared his impressions of the new publications presented to the public.

Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin, Secretary of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan Chingiz Abdullayev and others spoke about the attention and care shown to Russian language and culture in our country.

Then opening ceremony of the congress started.

Today East and West, Asia and Europe have formed a new civilization by embarking on a dynamic demographic, economic and ideological approach. Azerbaijan has always been a shelter for other peoples throughout its history and that many religious and ethnic representatives feel comfortable in our country on the basis of mutual respect and kindness, President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh stated.

President of ANAS spoke about the fruitful cooperation between our countries in the field of science and underlined the importance of further expansion of these ties. It was noted that special attention is given to Russian language and literature teaching in Azerbaijan.

"In recent years, one of the most important directions of reforms at ANAS is the integration of science and education," academician A.Alizade said, adding that the establishment of a master's degree is part of the reforms implemented in this direction.

Then Rector of Sumgayit State University Elkhan Huseynov read a letter addressed by the Minister of Education Mikail Jabbarov to the congress.

Ali Huseynli, Arif Rahimzadeh and others notified that Azerbaijan is known as a tolerant and multicultural country in the world and wished success to the congressional work.

The Congress continued its work with plenary sessions.
