The event dedicated to the results of archeological researches carried out by the " Ruined Gilan" archaeological expedition in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2017 was held in Nakhchivan Department of ANAS.

Chairman of the department, acad. Ismail Hajiyev spoke about the effectiveness of archaeological expeditions organized in the autonomous republic for more than a decade and said that important facts related to the ancient history of the region were revealed during the researches. He noted that the research of the Archaeological Expedition " Ruined Gilan" operating in the territory of Ordubad completed.

Then PhD in history Bahlul Ibrahimli, the leading scientific worker of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, the head of the " Ruined Gilan " archaeological expedition, presented his report on excavations in the current year. Speaking about the richness of Archeological monuments in Nakhchivan region, noted the importance of Gilan and its surrounding monuments for Azerbaijani archeology. He said that in the future, research work will be continued in this monument.

B. Ibrahimli also provided detailed information on the material and cultural samples found during the excavations and said that 229 samples found in the area will be presented to the Archeology and Ethnography Museum in the coming days.
