At the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS an international conference "Protection of the Rights of Persons Captured and Hostage, missing during the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, in the Context of International Humanitarian Law" was held.

The event was held with the joint organizational support of the Institute of Law and Human Rights and the Public Association for Assistance to Prisoners and Hostages "Hasret Yolu", as well as with the financial support of the Council of State Support of Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the senior scientific employee of the Institute, chairman of the public association Esmira Orujeva reported that, as a result of the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocides carried out by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the rights of more than 1 million of our compatriots were violated. E.Orujeva noted that, during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, 3868 people were missing, 873 people, according to testimony, were hidden by the opposite side.

She noted that, in order to achieve the goals set in the framework of the project were held meetings of a public association of propaganda in the representations of a number of embassies and international organizations.

A.Mustafazade brought to attention that even civilians, captured by Armenians and not having any relation to the war, are subjected to moral and psychological pressure, as well as various tortures. Currently, most of the hostages are disabled.

Recalling that, Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, who went to Kelbajar in July 2014 to visit the graves of their relatives, were taken hostage, A.Mustafazadeh underlined that, at present the rights of our compatriots continue to be infringed.
