A press conference on the results of the event titled "Training on analytical tools for network management systems and seismology" was held in Baku on 25 October.
The press conference was attended by Director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center, correspondent member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli, head of the Department of Seismological Projects of the US Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Rengin Gok, Professor of the same laboratory Robert Mellors and head of the US Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology Tim Ahern.
Corresponding Member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli said that, holding the international conference in Baku is of great importance from the point of view of applying and studying new processing programs in the field of seismology. He stressed the importance of joint cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of seismology.
Speaking at a press conference, Rengin Gok said that, he is currently studying seismicity and is conducting research at US Livermore National Laboratory on seismic activity in the region. The scientist noted that, he has been cooperating with the RSSC for more than 10 years, and the work done here is at a high level. Rengin Gok stressed that, significant work has been done in Azerbaijan in the direction of training young seismologists.
Further, head of the IRIS Information Center, Tim Ahern said that, seismic observations, seismic service and research in Azerbaijan are carried out by modern methods.
