New books included to the Fund of Manuscripts of Nakhchivan Department

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has transferred 3 books to the Manuscripts Fund of of the ANAS Nakhchivan Department: “Karbala Yangisi”, published in 1907 with Arabic graphics in Azerbaijani, “Elmi Heyvanat”- textbook written by Jamo Jabrailbekov in 1922, the second volume of the book “Gurani Tafsir” by Mahammadhasan Movlazadeh, published in 1908 in Tiflis.

At the event, organized on this occasion, chairman of the Department, Academician Ismail Hajiyev informed on the establishment of the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS and its part - the Manuscripts Foundation - in accordance with the decree of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev dated August 7, 2002. The Fund of Manuscripts, functioning since 2005, collects, systemizes, catalogs, stores, studies and publishes manuscripts that reflect the historical past and the moral and cultural life of our people.

The scientist noted, most manuscripts stored at the Found were donated by the Chairman of the Supreme Mejlis of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan. I.Hajiyev brought to attention that, in recent years the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has donated about 20 books to the fund.

Then, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Natavan Gadimova in her speech spoke about the importance of studying and promoting the national history and the role of museums in carrying out work in this direction. Speaking about the great attention paid by the state to the study of samples of material culture, N.Gadimova noted that, in recent years museum fund have been significantly enriched, exhibits donated by citizens to the centers of culture have a great historical significance: "The protection, research and transfer to future generations of manuscripts reflecting in itself the historical realities of the people - the civic duty of each of us".

At the event, Director of the Manuscript Fund of the Department, Doctor of Philology, Farman Khalilov, brought to the attention that, in his institution he was conducting important work on the study of ancient manuscripts and books. He noted that, the catalog catalogs unique art samples and conducts preliminary studies of manuscripts. Among the publications stored in the fund, there are manuscripts in Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, and Persian and Arabic languagesrelated to literature, history, mathematics, astronomy, logic, philosophy and medicine.

Director of the Found emphasized that, a number of unique art samples, old books and letters connected with the history and culture of Nakhchivan were involved in system research.

In conclusion, the participants got acquainted with the manuscripts stored in the Manuscript Fund.
