The presentation of the book entitled "The Land of Fire on Silk Road - History of Azerbaijan", translated into Bulgarian by Austrian historian, scientist and writer Erik Faigl, was organized jointly by ANAS, Azerbaijani Embassy in Bulgaria and Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Sofia University.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Nargiz Gurbanova said that the territory of Azerbaijan, rich with archaeological monuments, is one of the ancient cradles of civilization. The scientist noted that the presentation of such a book within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is remarkable for Bulgarian readers and historians.

The director of the Institute of History of ANAS, academician Yagub Mahmudov gave information about the first states that existed 5,000 years ago, the Safavids Empire 237 years, the first democratic republic in the Muslim East, the Baku oil, which played an important role in the USSR's victory in the Second World War, and so on. He said that the foundation of the first opera and operetta in the Muslim East was laid in Azerbaijan.

The translator of the book, T.Enev, stated that the facts of the Armenians' transfer to the Caucasus were proven by facts and their crimes were read to the reader.
