The scientific session on "M.P.Vagif and the Azerbaijani language" was organized by the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, academician Mohsun Nagisoylu said that the session was held within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev’s Order dated January 12, 2017 "On holding the 300th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Molla Panah Vagif". He said that the name of Molla Panah Vagif had been included in the program of UNESCO's "Celebration of prominent people and significant events for 2016-2017", and that the writer was recognized as a prominent vocabulary all over the world.

Speaking about the beginning of the new stage of Azerbaijani literature with Vagif, the academician said that by creating an authoritative literary school, the prominent poet had a strong influence on the development of Gasım bey Zakir, Ashig Alasgar.

Doctor of Philology, Professor Ismayil Kazimov made a report on “The concept of "beauty" in Vagif's poetry”, Doctor of Philology, Professor Mahira Guliyeva on "Vagif Folk Literature at the Crossroads of Classical Literature", PhD in Philology Khadija Heyderova on "Linguistic Analysis of Vagif Poetry" and etc.
