Nakhchivan Division of ANAS held reporting meetings of scientific-research institutes on the results of scientific and scientific-organizational activities for 2017.

First, the annual report of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology of the division was listened. Director of the Institute, correspondent member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli informed about the scientific-research activity of the enterprise headed by him and said that according to the plan of scientific-research works of 2017, the Institute conducted research on archeology, ethnography and epigraphy of Nakhchivan history. He noted that 177 scientific works (27 of them abroad) were published in the reporting year, and 70 newspapers were published in various media abroad.

It was noted that under the guidance of Corresponding member of ANAS Vali Bakhshaliyev “Research on the history of Nakhchivan on the basis of archaeological, ethnographic, epigraphic and Oriental sources, electronic registration and mapping of archaeological monuments" theme was a winner of grant project.

Correspondent member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev, presented the annual report of the Institute of Arts, Language and Literature of the division. In the current year, 4 workshops covering one subject were implemented in 15 stages. The number of scientific publications published during the reporting period has increased. 11 monographs, 5 books, 136 scientific articles (17 abroad), 1 thesis, 53 conference materials, and 215 scientific works were published by the staff. 93 newspapers has been published in various media abroad.

Director of the Institute of Natural Resources, correspondent member of ANAS Aliaddin Abbasov said that in the reporting year 146 scientific works were published, including 5 monographs (1 abroad), 5 books, 79 articles (27 abroad), 57 conference materials 32 abroad).

Academician Tariyel Talibov, director of the Institute of the Bioresources, who presented the annual report of the Institute , said that 11 works were implemented in 22 stages this year. He noted that 9 monographs, 2 books, 1 booklet and 160 scientific articles (including 46 scientific articles and conference materials abroad) were published in the research year.

Director of the Manuscripts Fund, PhD in Philology Farman Khalilov noted that in the Foundation, according to the plan of scientific-research works of 2017, 3 works covering 1 subject are implemented in three stages. He said that the number of ancient printed books and manuscripts kept in the fund during the reporting period was increased from 322 to 380. The number of modern books in the library is 202. Compared with the same period last year, 32 employees of the Fund published 1 monograph, 1 book.

It was noted that in the reporting year the work on creation of personal archives of Nakhchivan's science, culture, literature and educators has started. In order to strengthen the Fund's scientific activity, an agreement was signed on cooperation with the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, as well as cooperated with the Tabriz State University, Tabriz National Library and other scientific and educational institutions.

Director of the Batabat Astrophysics Observatory, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Gulu Haziyev said that two studies covering 2 topics in one of the prerequisites were implemented in five stages. 5 scientific workers have published 35 books, including 1 book, 33 scientific articles and 1 thesis.

At the end, annual activities of the scientific-research institutions of the unit were considered satisfactory.
