The next meeting of the Spelling Commission was held at the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS.

The meeting discussed the principles of training and compilation of Azerbaijani spelling rules.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, academician Mohsun Nagisoylu said that the project "Spelling rules of Azerbaijani language" was discussed at ANAS Presidium meeting on December 28, 2017 and was recommended for publication.

Some changes to the new "Spelling dictionary" were also brought to the attention.
