A scientific session on "Archaeological and ethnographic research in Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the well-known historian-ethnographer, Honored Scientist, Chevalier of Orders "Sharaf" and "Shohrat", head of the Department of Historical Ethnography of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Academician Teymur Bunyadov was held.
The event was attended by deputies, scientists, Azerbaijani representation of the Azerbaijan-Korean Association of Cultural Exchange SEBA, officials of the executive power of the Gazakh region and others.
At the event held in the Central Scientific Library, President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the latest contributions of Azerbaijani archeologists and ethnographers to the world science and the attention and care of the country's leadership about the Azerbaijani science. He noted that scientists from the generation of Teymur Bunyadov played an exceptional role in the formation and preservation of the idea of Azerbaijan's independence.
Then, director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Doctor of Historical Sciences Maisa Ragimova delivered a report on "The Great Scientist-historian Teymur Bunyadov". In her speech, she spoke about the life and work of T.Bunyadov, his invaluable role in the development of national cadres.
The deputies Fattah Heydarov, Academician Ziyad Samadzadeh, Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Academician Nailya Valikhanli, Professors Gazanfar Pashayev, Shirindil Alysanov, poet Nariman Hasanzadeh and others congratulated the scientist on his jubilee and shared his memories of him.
In conclusion, Teymur Bunyadov expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
