Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The first bureau meeting of the Department of Social Sciences of ANAS was held this year.

Opening the event, academician-secretary of the department, academician Nargiz Akhundova informed the participants about the agenda issues. He recalled his speech at Presidium's meeting on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the academic unit in 2017, and said that the work done in the DSS last year was highly appreciated.

Akhundova gave relevant instructions to the members of the department on the integration of science and education, expansion of international relations, training and publishing.

Then, scientific-organizational issues were discussed. As a result of the discussions, part of the structure of the Scientific Council of the Institute of History named after A.Bakikhanov and in the structure of the Institute of History was partially changed. In addition, a decision was made to publish a scientific-theoretical-practical magazine in the Institute of History.

At the meeting, it was decided to hold of Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev's 80th anniversary, academicians - Heydar Huseynov and Alovsat Sumbatzade’s 110th anniversary of and correspondent member of ANAS Garash Madatov’s 90th anniversary.

At the end a number of personnel issues were considered.
