The 1st volume of the two volumes "Geography of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" was published, the editor-in-chief is director of the Institute of Geography of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mammadov.

In the 1st volume of "Physical Geography" information was reflected on the results of the latest scientific research covering various areas of physical geography of the Autonomous Republic, which has rich natural conditions and resources. In the fundamental work were investigated orography, geological structure, geomorphology, climate, inland waters, soil and vegetation cover, fauna and landscapes of the territory of Nakhchivan. The units of physico-geographical zoning are singled out and thoroughly commented on.

The monograph, comprehensively covering complex issues related to the physical geography of Nakhchivan, is intended for specialists of government organizations, scientists, professors, professors, bachelors, undergraduates, doctoral students and a wide readership.

Scientific editors of the book are corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizadeh and chairman of the Nakhchivan Division, academician Ismail Hajiyev. The editorial board included academician Tariel Talibov, correspondent members of ANAS Saleh Maharramov and Talat Kengerli, Doctors of geography sciences Huseyn Khalilov and Rana Gashgay, Ph.D. in geography Maharram Hasanov, N.Bababeyli, Sitara Tarihazar and Irina Kuchinskaya.
