Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Russian publishing house "Nauka" published the volume "Azerbaijanis" of  Ethnological Collection of "Nations and cultures” in Moscow.

Editor-in-chief of the book is the head of the Department at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Doctor of Anthropology, Professor Aliaga Mammadli and Senior Research Fellow of the Caucasus Institute of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, candidate of historical sciences Lyubov Solovyova.

Familiarized with the "Azerbaijanis", readers of the Russian language will get interesting information on the main stages of the formation of the modern "Azerbaijan" ethnonym, the place of the people in the classification of the class, the main ethnographic groups played an important role in the formation of the Azerbaijani ethnos, the historical and ethnographic zones of Azerbaijan.

The publication also provides information about the traditional beliefs, religions and the features of the Islamic religion in Azerbaijan. The volume is illustrated with rich photoframes and maps.
