ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography held commemorative event devoted to victims of 31 March genocide

At the event, director of the institute, Professor Maisa Rahimova said that, genocide and ethnic cleansing policies against all the people, regardless of their national or religious affiliation are one of the bloody pages of human history.

On March 30-31, 1918, the leaders of the Baku Communist Party and the Shovinist Armenians committed an unprecedented massacre against the Muslim population. According to the Decree signed by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev on March 26, 1998, March 31 was declared the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis for the first time political and legal assessment of this massacre.

Prof. M.Rahimova noted the important role of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography in revealing and investigating material traces of human trafficking committed by Armenian fascism in Guba.

Employee of the Institute, PhD in History Gahraman Agayev with a presentation accompanied by visual-electronic illustrations on "Archeological research of the Guba genocide grave". Referring to the history of the Guba genocide graveyard, the reporter said that about 200 people had cranial bones found there. 55 of them belong to different aged women, children and adolescents aged 4-15, and the rest to older men.

Agayev said that, the memorial complex in the territory of the Guba genocide grave represents the genocide committed by Armenian chauvinists against our people at the beginning of the twentieth century.
