Head of Seismology and Seismic Hazard Department at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS, doctor of geological sciences, assistant professor Gulam Babayev visited University of Michigan with a grant from Fulbright Foundation.

The aim was to conduct research on the theme "Evaluation of seismic hazard at the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus through contemporary methods and approaches" with Professor Natan Niyemi, University of Michigan's Earth and Environmental Sciences Department.

During the visit, certain preliminary results were achieved and studies, interpretation and analysis were carried out. The obtained results will soon be brought to the discussion of the scientific community and will be presented to foreign journals.
