The Role and Impact of Social Media in E-Government

Scientists of the Institute are co-authors of the book published in the framework of international cooperation

The prestigious publishing house “IGI Global” published a book Optimizing E-Participation Initiatives through Social Media, sponsored by scientists from Granada University of Spain Laura Alquid-Muñoz and Francisco José Alcaraz- Guiles.

This book is an important source for scholars and researchers who conduct research on online participation in public policy decisions.

The co-authors of the second chapter "The Role and Impact of Social Media in the E-Government" are academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev and head of department of the institute, technician, associate professor Farhad Yusifov.

This chapter discusses such issues as the existence of an agreed long-term goal for establishing relations between citizens and state bodies that use social media, the role of social networks in creating feedback between citizens in an e-state, the transformation of the mechanisms of managing and using social media in e- state.

It should be noted that this work was implemented within the framework of the project grant (Qrant No. EİF-KETPL-2-2015-1 (25) -56/05/1), funded by the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
