Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On April 18, general meeting devoted to scientific and scientific - organizational activity of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 2013 was held at the main building of ANAS.

Head of Azerbaijan Presidential Administration academician, Ramiz Mehdiyev, academicians and corresponding members of ANAS, directors of institutes and other organizations, parliamentarians and media representatives participated at the meeting.

For the first, the participants visited Honorary Alley and laid a wreath on national leader Heydar Aliyev’s tomb.

Later guests were acquainted with books, magazines and other publications reflecting activity of enterprises and organizations of ANAS in 2013.

President of ANAS , academician Akif Alizadeh opened the general meeting. Azerbaijan has an opportunity to be a scientific center of the region, Akif Alizadeh noted. Head of ANAS emphasized important measures in accordance with the requirements for informatization of activity of the organization. He also informed establishment of Ganja Department, Board of Directors of scientific institutions of ANAS, Council of Coordination of Examination of Innovative Project, as well as Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.

A.Alizade also stated award of youth to “President's Award for Youth”, preparation of Development Program of ANAS till 2020. Academician let to know that, important events as III Baki International Humanitarian Forum was one of the important achievements of our country.

Later academician -secretary of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Rasim Alguliyev made a speech: “1402 scientific on 504 themes within 162 problems carried out, 110 significant results gained, 55 applied. More than 604 books, more than 7208 articles and thesis as well as more than 2427 articles in abroad were published. 24 doctors’ and 124 PhD’s dissertations were defended at ANAS, 68 republican and 45 international conferences were held by scientific institutions”.

ANAS is on the eve of two presentable events as 70th anniversary of ANAS and I Congress of Azerbaijani Scientists, and some measures has been taken in accordance, stated corresponding member….
