Palace of official receptions of the Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted award ceremony "National heritage" established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Before the ceremony, held on the occasion of the International Day of Monuments and Sites, was held a photo exhibition "Heydar Aliyev and Cultural Heritage", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the event Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev noted that, the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites is widely celebrated in our country every year, various events are held in the capital and regions. He brought to the attention that AR President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President, head of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva implement a number of projects in the country and abroad aimed at preserving our historical monuments and bringing them to future generations.

A.Garaev also noted that, last month the tombs "Allah-Allah" and the Torpaggala complex, including the architectural monument "Hündür günbəzli hamam" in Guba, were restored and given for use.

Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Professor Maisa Rahimova stressed that the protection of historical monuments is our civic duty.

Then, the ceremony of awarding the National Heritage Award, established by the ministry in 2013 to promote the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, encourage national architectural and restoration art, support and stimulate activities in the field of protection of historical and cultural monuments began.

Leading researcher of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Ph.D. in History Kahraman Agayev was awarded the "National Heritage" Prize for his contribution to the study of monuments of cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
