Scientific Council on the problems of the history of the Scientific Research Coordination Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan held next meeting on May 18.

First, chairman of the council, academician Shahin Mustafayev acquainted the participants with the issues on the agenda. The scientist stressed that, the main areas of the Council's activities include control over the relevance and scientific value of the problems studied in the field of historical science, as well as the conformity of dissertations topics to modern requirements.

He noted that, the Council should expand its activities in this direction, increase attention to the identification of priority problems and topics facing the historical science and which need to be studied.

Further, there was a wide discussion the topics submitted to the council.

During the meeting were discussed 24 topics of dissertations on such specialties as general history, archeology, ethnography and ethnology, history of international relations, history of countries, bibliology and bibliography. The titles of 7 dissertations submitted for the degree of Doctor of Science and 17 for the degree of PhD were clarified. Valuable recommendations were given to young scientists.
