7thWorld Conference of Soft Computing dedicated to the scientific heritage of the world-famous Azerbaijani scientist Lutfi Zadeh kicked off in Baku.

First of all, the participants of the event honored the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid flowers to his grave.

Then, Lutfi Zadeh was commemorated and laid flowers on his grave.

At the opening ceremony of the event, Shahnaz Shahbazova, secretary general of the conference, Professor of the Azerbaijan Technical University, spoke about the scientific activity of the scientist.

Further Sh.Shahbazova noted that, the event was presented 128 scientific articles of scientists from about 30 countries. She said that, young scientists predominate among scientists, and Lutfi Zadeh highly evaluated the organization of conferences on soft computing in terms of the appeal of young researchers to new scientific works.

Speaking about the life and work of the outstanding scientist and the theory of fuzzy logic in the field of artificial intelligence, the director of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, academician Telman Aliyev brought to the attention that, at present Lutfi Zadeh's theories are widely used in science and industry, all over the world they turn to the theories of the scientist, bringing great economic benefit.

T.Aliyev noted that, the organization of the conference in Baku opens great opportunities for Azerbaijani scientists and they will be able to implement joint projects with well-known researchers.

Speaking at the event, American Professors Geri Mendel, Vladik Krejnovich and Polish scientist Janus Kaspshik spoke about the scientific relevance and economic significance of the theories of Lutfi Zadeh.

At the conference, a video was shown about the Golden Goose award, awarded to Lutfi Zadeh after his death.

The conference, which will last until May 31, continued its work in the sessions of the sections.
