IV International Scientific Conference "Philosophy of dialogue in the conditions of variety of cultures" held

Central Scientific Library of ANAS held IV International Scientific Conference "Philosophy of dialogue in the conditions of variety of cultures" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev on June 4.

The event is held with organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Institute of Philosophy  of ANAS.

First, the conference participants honored the memory of the world-famous politician, national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid flowers to his grave.

The well-known ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva also was honored.

The meeting, which attends by famous Russian philosophers, was opened by the director of the Institute of Philosophy, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh. He told that, the conference held 10 years ago in Moscow, which acquired a traditional character, was dedicated to the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Noting that, the transformation of multiculturalism into state policy is connected with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, scientist stressed that, the rich heritage of the brilliant leader unites the philosophers of the world.

Then, Vice-President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli noted the importance of holding an international conference in Azerbaijan from the point of view of studying and promoting the ideology of multiculturalism and tolerance of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that, at present the model of tolerance and multiculturalism in Azerbaijan is an example for other countries.

Speaking about the steps taken by Heydar Aliyev for the development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, scientist emphasized the depth of the philosophical and political significance of the ideology of Azerbaijanism of the great leader.

Speaking about the friendly relations that exist between Azerbaijan, the inter-civilizational and intercultural dialogue, Vice-President of ANAS noted that, relations of cooperation dominate in our country based on tolerance, mutual respect and trust between different religions and races. He stressed that, ideology of Azerbaijanism is the basis of the idea of a modern independent Azerbaijan state. Academician I.Habibbeyli noted that, the policy of multiculturalism, established by the national leader, is being successfully developed by President Ilham Aliyev today.

Then, director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Abdulsalam Huseynov, vice-president of the Russian Philosophical Society, Professor Alexander Chumakov emphasized the special role of philosophy in the dialogue of cultures. It was noted that, the mutual influence of cultures in the regime of dialogue is in a sense a philosophical question. Philosophy, through its universal principles, creates an intellectual basis for intercultural dialogue.

At the event, were listened reports on "Values and Ethical Composition of the Global World", "Intercultural Dialogue: Philosophical Traditions and Modernity", "Cultural Phenomenon", "Ethnonational and Religious History of the 21st Century in the Light of the Common Philosophy", "Philosophical Intelligence in a Globalizing World" "Culture of intercultural dialogue", "Azerbaijan-Russia: the possibility of forming a coevolutionary reflexively active environment", "Philosophy of the History of Philosophy".

The statements reflected the idea Azerbaijanism of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan, the diversity of cultures in the period of globalization, the role of philosophy in intercultural dialogue.

The conference, organized as part of the traditional "Aliyev Readings", will continue its work at the Institute of Philosophy till June 5.
