At the General Meeting dedicated to the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for 2017 presented Nominal Awards of ANAS after outstanding scientists.

Academician Bahadir Taghiev was awarded the ANAS Nasreddin Tusi Award for important scientific research on the current problems of the semiconductor conductivity mechanism and for an important contribution to the study of sources of effective luminescent radiation based on compounds activated by rare soil elements, for important scientific achievements in the course of long-term research in the field of modern sciences in the field of biodiversity, as well as for the merits in the preparation of highly specialized cadres correspondent member of ANAS Zeynal Akparov – ANAS award after Hasan-bay Zardabi.

For studies in the field of non-covalent bonds, the role of the "doping effect" and the "spider effect" in the reactions of organic synthesis and the design of molecules, synthesis, stabilization and the use of active Nano-devices in various environments, academician Abel Maharamov was awarded ANAS award after Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, for the fundamental scientific work "Atlas of mud volcanoes of the world" (in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages), as well as a long-term scientific activity aimed at studying the geology, geotectonics, geochemistry and mineralogy of mud volcanism, which is a unique natural phenomenon, Doctor of geology-mineralogy sciences Adil Aliyev - ANAS award after academician Musa Aliyev, for researching and analyzing the sources of the early medieval history of Azerbaijan and the Middle East , socio-economic, political and cultural problems, as well as the historical geography of the region to academician Naila Velikhanli - ANAS award after Abbas-guli aga Bakikhanov.

It should be noted that, for the glorification of the modern school of painting of Azerbaijan on a world scale by its original style and scientifically grounded inimitable creativity, People's Artist Tahir Salakhov was awarded ANAS award after Academician Uzeir Hajibeyli.

Recall that, the contest to receive nominal premiums of ANAS was announced in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of February 15, 2018. In accordance with the results of the competition, at a meeting of the Presidium, which was held on April 5 of this year, a decision was passed to award prizes to the above-mentioned scientist.
