Azerbaijan will be used drones to determine the sources of carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic “Science Foundation” announced a competition for project "Development of scientific, technical and economic bases for the collection and usage of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted into the atmosphere by large industrial facilities instead of natural gas methane (CH4), used as feedstock in production of methanol and urea fertilizers in Azerbaijan and preparation of proposals".

The proposal of ANAS Institute of Oil and Gas  (IOG) was successful and the implementation of the project was entrusted to this institution.

The main goal of the project is a purposeful and efficient use of carbon dioxide, emitted to the atmosphere from large industrial sources, from the economic point of view.

The importance of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in our country to determine the sources of large carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, to register sources on GIS maps, to study the possibility of gas capacity of geological formations near sources of waste, to develop a transport scheme depending on the specific area of use of CO2 and other measures.

In this regard, between the LLC "ANAS Park of High Technologies" and the Institute of Oil and Gas was signed a contract for the sale and purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to the agreement the UAV "M 4-0.5 (Albatross)" was presented to the Institute of Oil and Gas made by the Park of High Technologies.

Deputy Director of High Technologies Park, PhD in Agar Sciences Elkhan Bayramov, Deputy Director of IOG, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Vagif Gurbanov, Head of the Science and Technology Department of SOCAR Nazim Veliyev and attendant at the presentation.
