The preliminary results of the expedition conducted by the leading scientific researcher of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, PhD in history Gahraman Aghayev in Pirguluoba village of Khachmaz region were revealed.

According to archeologist G.Agayev, archeological researches have been carried out since July of this year in the area of ​​50 sales of the territory covering 82 square meters of 4 hectares near Pirguluoba village.

It should be noted that the researches started in 2017 after the official appeal of the residents of Pirguluoba and Kochagli villages of Khachmaz to the Archaeological and Ethnography Institute and Khachmaz District Executive Authority for the archaeological research in the massive called “Martyrdom”. The soldiers of the Caucasian-Islamic Army who had rescued the Azerbaijani people from the occupying Armenian-Bolshevik regime were buried in the territory in 1918. Following the public statement, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral visited the Pirguluoba village of Khachmaz on February 23 and met with local residents and visited the graveyard where Turkish soldiers were buried.
