The next meeting of the Scientific Council on Medical Problems was held on September 7 at the Medical Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University.

In his opening remarks, ANAS corresponding member Nuru Bayramov spoke about the issues on the agenda. He noted that the meeting was devoted to medical theses and registration of research methods, priority areas of scientific research, including the existing tasks and the work to be done.

N.Bayramov firstly announced the new charter of the Council for the Coordination of Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Noting that, in the institution there are councils on various fields of science, the scientist said that, this also includes the medical sphere. The scientist noted that, the council performs such tasks as coordination of scientific research conducted in the country, elimination of repetitions and involvement of various scientific institutions in joint research.

N.Bayramov noting that, a site is functioning to register within the framework of a unified system of scientific research works. He noted that, with the support of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, was created an electronic database of dissertations and research methods. The main goal of creating a dissertation search system is to simplify the coordination of research work and eliminate repetition in the topics of dissertations.

Then, the scientific secretary of the council - assistant professor of the Department of Human Anatomy of AMI, doctor of medical sciences Balakishi Huseynov delivered a report, and gave information on registration of medical theses for 2017-2018. He said that, 72 dissertations have been registered, 55 of them are PhD and 17 are doctoral theses.

Speaking about priority directions and dissertations on innovative directions, the scientist noted that stem cells and regenerators have their own genomics 3, 9, and 12 theses on molecular biology, as well as 14 research methods.

According to Balakisha Huseynov, 72 dissertations were registered in the system and 102 works were not included in the system.

At the end of the event, the parties exchanged views on the issues on the agenda. It was stressed that, the information retrieval system on research methods has a great importance in terms of obtaining information on the implementation of works of institutions and organizations, conducting research, and for more effective research of materials.

During the discussion, the leaders of the Azerbaijan Medical University, the Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians, the Research Institute of Lung Diseases, the Scientific Center of Surgery, the National Center of Oncology and others made a number of proposals.
