Museum held an exhibition on the 100th anniversary of Baku's liberation

Today, ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History held the opening ceremony of the "People are grateful to you" exhibition.

Before the opening of the exhibition, national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed.

Director of the museum, academician Naila Valikhanli noted that, the day of the liberation of Baku was a remarkable event in the history of the Azerbaijani people and our statehood was restored.

N.Valikhanli said that, the cultural center of the museum has a rich exposition. She noted that, the founders of the Republic, its activists, photographs, documentaries and other archival materials of the founding of the Popular Front of the Republic, as well as the beginning of the XIX century and the beginning of the 20th century, were the logical outcome of the social and political processes in our country and the world, the national identity of the Azerbaijani people, The arrival of Nuru Pasha to Ganja, the symbol of the Turkish Brotherhood, the formation and formation of the Caucasian Islamic Army, the escape from Ganja to Baku, the courage of the Turkish poets who came to the aid of our homeland and other exhibits are displayed.

The scientist said that, the opening of the exhibition in the East Hall is not a coincidence, that 100 years ago in this hall prominent philanthropist Taghiyev and Nuru Pasha hosted a reception in honor of the he Commander of the Caucasian Islamic Army.

Turkey's ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Özoral underlined that 100 years ago the Turkish and Azerbaijani army fought together with heroism.

Later, the head of the Presidential Secretariat, the President's assistant professor D. Seyidzade the Army plays an important role in the history of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations.

He underlined that, the wide celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has important political and scientific significance.

"The right to vote for women in the Muslim East was first given to Azerbaijan during the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan - 100 years ago", Dilara Seyidzadeh said, noting that it was an important historical event.

Then the guests got acquainted with the exhibition.

The exhibition demonstrates the June-September march, which resulted in military-political events in Azerbaijan in 1918, including anti-Azerbaijani policy of the Baku Soviet, the genocide of Azerbaijanis, the creation of the Caucasus Islamic Army and the liberation of Baku.

More than 120 unique exhibits are presented to the audience.

The exhibition will last until December 14, 2018.
