Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A memorial bas-relief was opened at the Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, State Prize laureate, Honored Scientist, academician Hasan Abdullayev.

The President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, members of the Presidium and directors of the institutes of ANAS attended at the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, rector, academician Abel Maharramov spoke about the establishment of the foundation of modern physics in Azerbaijan, particularly the physics and technology of semiconductors, determination of the main directions of the all-round development of this branch of science by Hasan Abdullayev. According to the rector of BSU Abel Maharramov, Hasan Abdullayev was one of the famous scientists of the world physical science. He headed the Institute of Physics of ANAS for 36 years, from 1970 to 1983, did a great job as president of the Azerbaijani Academy of Sciences.

Speakers emphasized the merits of the scientist in the theoretical study of scientific results at a high level, a deeper study of the republic's natural resources, and comprehensive research to improve the economic efficiency of science.
