Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Within the framework of the IX Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forum organized in Baku a "round table" was held on strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere on September 27.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov expressed satisfaction with the high level of development of relations between our countries. It was noted that the presidents of the two countries always keep the focus on expanding bilateral ties.

He noted that, Azerbaijani youth are interested in the Russian language and literature. Annually in our country there are Olympiads in the Russian language.

The pro-rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MSIIR) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Artem Malgin said that, Azerbaijan and Russia are connected by special relations in the humanitarian sphere. Russian language and culture are preserved in Azerbaijan, Russians live in comfortable conditions. The Vice-Rector also spoke about the development of cooperation in the framework of the Russian-Azerbaijani Association of Higher Education Organizations.

Then, “round table” continued its work with speeches.

The event was also attended by the vice-president of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev.
