Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The book dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was published by the staff of the National Museum of the Azerbaijan History, Ph.D in History Sabuhi Ahmadov, Emin Mammadov and Nurangiz Garayeva. Scientific editor of the publication is the director of the museum, academician Naila Velikhanli.

The book album provides detailed information on some of the weapons protected in the museum’s archeological collection. Some of these samples were discovered during archaeological expeditions organized in the areas of Sheki, Gazakh, Gabala and Mingachevir in the 1920s and 1980s, as well as in the Caspian basin. Among them are samples found during archaeological work carried out by relevant institutions.

At the same time, the book includes information on various types of weapons (swords, daggers, knives, warheads, spears, axes, etc.) found in regions of our country.

The publication is intended for researchers and professionals, as well as for a wide audience.
