Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Academician Isa Habibbayli, vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, has been on a scientific journeys in China.

During the visit, he delivered a lecture for students studying Azerbaijani language at Beijing Foreign Languages ​​University (BFLU).

Academician made a lecture on "History of Azerbaijani Literature" and spoke about development of our literature, various genres and trends, geniuses of our national culture and literature, including Nizami Ganjavi, Imadeddin Nasimi, Mohammad Fuzuli, Molla Panah Vagif, Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, Jalil Mammadguluzade, Huseyn Javid, Jafar Jabbarli and Uzeyir Hajibeyli.

The scientist also met with Professor Pen Lon, rector of BFLU, and exchanged views on the expansion of ties between the two organizations.

During his visit, Habibbeyli also visited the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the launch of the Chinese Studies Center at the Institute of Literature.

According to the memorandum, the center will be engaged in organization of mutual literary researches and literary translations, holding joint seminars and conferences, exchanging scholars and doctors of sciences, and preparing doctors of sciences.
