Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Oriental Studies held a meeting with a group of public figures of the Arab Republic of Egypt on October 26.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Egypt's House of Representatives Parliament Al-Sayed Mahmoud Al-Sherif, Co-Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups Usama Al-Abd and Governor of the Galubia region of the Arab Republic of Egypt Alaa Abdelhalim.

At first, the guests met with the director of the institute, academician Bakhshaliyeva Govhar. During the meeting, Bakhshaliyeva Govhar touched upon the scientific and cultural ties of Azerbaijan with Arab countries and noted the important role of Oriental scholars in strengthening these ties.

Speaking about the studies carred out at the Institute of Oriental Studies in connection with the history, economy of Arab countries, Arabic language and literature, as well as published books, the scientist brought to the attention that the Arabic sources contain important information about the history of Azerbaijan. Egyptian representatives spoke about the relationship between the two countries.

The Egyptian guests, meeting with the staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies, stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and education.
