ANAS main building, by support of ANAS Institute of Folklore and the Institute of Literature held "Folklore and Statehood" III Republican Scientific Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

Director of the Institute of Folklore, academician Mukhtar Imanov, opened the forum, said that the event was organized by Order of President Ilham Aliyev “On the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” dated May 16, 2017.

He said that, the creation of the 1st parliamentary republic in the Muslim East is the beginning of a new democratic republican stage in history. He noted that, one of the main issues raised by the leadership of the ADR, which existed for 23 months, was the creation and preservation of national culture.

Then, ANAS Vice-President, academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that, within the aforementioned presidential decree more than 20 events were organized. He informed the participants about the final conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the ADR, organized by ANAS Division of Humanitarian Sciences and Division of Social Sciences  next month.

Speaking about the conference, I.Habibbeyli said that, the original state model of Azerbaijan was found in historical folklore samples. All the necessary attributes of the state can be found in the Kitabi – Dede Gorgud and Koroglu dastans. Work on the manifestation of national and spiritual values, including “Azerbaijanism” and national statehood in science and literature will continue in the republic. These ideas created on the basis, the Kitabi – Dede Gorgud epic is an artistic example of statehood.

The event listened the reports by the leading researcher, Doctor of Philology Islam Sadig on “The state, its structure and management in Dede Gorgud”, head of the Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philology, Professor Tahira Mammad  on “Motives and elements related to the public administration system " and etc.

The conference continued work on the departments meetings.
