Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Academician of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Z.B. Bunyadov, academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva visited Russian city of St. Petersburg.

During visit, she participated in a roundtable on "Academic Oriental Studies in Eurasia: History and Perspectives" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

G.Bakhshaliyeva congratulated the staff of the institute on the jubilee and spoke about the close ties between the Russian and Azerbaijani orientalists. The scientist also made a report on the scientific activity of the Institute of Oriental Studies.

Then a protocol on scientific-organizational cooperation was signed between the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts. The protocol was signed by academician G.Bakhshaliyeva and director of IOM I.Popova. The document intends to carry out joint projects, conduct research, organize mutual improvement courses for researchers and PhD students, hold scientific, periodicals and staff exchanges.
