A ceremony dedicated to the new stage of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and “Clarivate Analytics” company was held on December 5.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jeyhun Bayramov said that important steps have been taken in recent years to achieve sustainable development of higher education, facilitate university access to international scientific bases and support the publication of scholarly articles in authoritative international publications. He noted that the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023," approved by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev, will give impetus to the development of science.

The decision has been made to continue cooperation with “Clarivate Analytics”, the world's largest electronic scientific and analytical database, for the next three years, minister said. He also proposed to develop a comprehensive report of the Action Plan for Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the “Clarivate Analytics” Company, 2018-2021, on the current state of the country's “Web of Science®” database.

Executive Director of the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elchin Babayev, stressed the importance of taking appropriate steps for further cooperation with “Clarivate Analytics”. Noting that the state has always paid special attention to the development of science and education in Azerbaijan, Babayev reminded that relevant decrees and decrees were signed in this sphere and said that modern technologies were brought to our country and personnel training was given great importance.

The executive director touched upon about the new nominations included to the “Web of Science Azerbaijan- 2018 Awards”.

Izabel Reiss, global director of consortium development of “Clarivate Analytics” and vice-president of ANAS, academician Dilgam Tagiyev spoke about the steps taken in the direction of development of science in the country and the necessity of introducing scientific results in Azerbaijan in the world.

“Clarivate Analytics” has hosted a presentation titled "Azerbaijan Higher Education Institutions: Results and Perspectives" in the Web of Science "Science in 2015-2018".

Then, the Ministry of Education and “Clarivate Analytics’ signed an agreement on cooperation between 2019 and 2021.

Then the “Web of Science Azerbaijan-2018” awards were presented to Azerbaijani scientists in different categories and nominations.

Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS deserved "Publication leader in Web of Science, ANAS", “Works of Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics"Journal "New Journals Indexed in ESCI of Web of Science Core Collection", Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of ANAS, correspondent member Vagif Guliyev "The most productive authors in Natural Sciences" prize.
