Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Scientific session dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Tahir Salahov, a prominent representative of the Azerbaijan painting school, National Artist of Azerbaijan and Russia, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Acting member of the European Academy of Science and Art, State Prize Laureate was held at the  Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi.

The event was organized jointly by ANAS Division of Humanitarian Sciences and Institute of Architecture and Art.

T. Salahov is one of the most prominent representatives of Azerbaijan's fine arts. He noted that the motif of Azerbaijanism, the rich spirituality of the people and the fate of the clan are in the works of the artist, opening the session, vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli said.

Noting that T. Salahov often touched on Caspian oil, oil and labor, I.Habibbeyli emphasized that the artist's "Morning Echleo", "Oilman", "Repairers", "New Sea" are proving it.

Tahir Salahov's works have been exhibited in Russia, France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Japan and other countries.

He praised the creative work of T. Salahov, who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of the Azerbaijan painting art, and has been awarded the "Istiglal", "Heydar Aliyev" and "Labor" orders.

Later academician presented gifts to T.Salahov.

Tahir Salahov is a great phenomenon T. Salahov's unique services are the formation, professionalization and promotion of young artists of the republic, Secretary of the Azerbaijan Academy of Arts, People's Artist Agali Ibrahimov said.

Then, director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, Correspondent member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzadeh made areport on "The manifestation of Roman culture in the works of the artist”.

Then People's Artist Tahir Salahov spoke about the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan's fine art. He emphasized Sattar Bahlulzadeh, Gazanfar Khaligov, Ogtay Sadigzadeh, Maral Rahmanzadeh’s role in the recognition of our country in the former USSR and in the world.

T. Salahov recalled that a certain period of his life passed through the academy and that his activity was always highly appreciated here and that he was awarded with the award of academician Uzeir Hajibeyli and thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
