Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS held republican scientific conference on "Bright page of history of the Azerbaijani statehood" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on December 19. The event, was organased by ANAS Division of Humanitarian Sciences and Division of Social Sciences was attended by scientists from the Academy, other scientific institutions and higher educational institutions of the republic.

Opening the conference, ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the Order “On holding the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Republic” and “Announcing 2018 the Year of the Azerbaijan Republic .

He informed that, in accordance with the Action Plan, approved by ANAS Presidium were published publications and books. Scientific institutions of ANAS Division held anniversary events on the republican and international scale.

Noting that, the policy implemented by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, contributed to the development of national self-consciousness and and strengthening the aspirations for independence of Azerbaijanism. Academician noted that, today, this policy successfully is continued by AR President Ilham Aliyev.

Academician-Secretary of ANAS Division of Social Sciences, academician Nargiz Akhundova spoke about the history of the creation of the ADR.

She stressed, during this period the first parliament, government, state apparatus were formed in Azerbaijan were formed, the country's borders were defined, the flag, anthem and emblem of the republic were created, the native language was declared as the state language, and serious measures were taken in the field of state construction.

At the conference, Senior Researcher of the Department of Azerbaijani Literature of the New Period of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, Doctor of Philology, Professor Alkhan Bayramoglu delivered paper on the “Literary movement in the ADR period”, head of the chair of Literature of Foreign Countries of Azerbaijan University of Languages, Doctor of Philology, Professor of ANAS Aynur Sabitova on "Ideas of national statehood and independence in Azerbaijani literature of the period of the republic", head of the International Relations Department of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Ph.D in political science Elshad Mirbashiroglu on “International Relations of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”, Leading Researcher of the Department of History of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic of the Institute of History after A.Bakihanov, PhD in history Kamran Ismailov on “The place and role of the ADR in the development of the national ideology of Azerbaijan”, head of the Department of Terminology of the Institute of Linguistics after Nasimi, Doctor of Philology, Professor Sayali Sadigova on “Language Policy in the Period of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”, Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy Ilham Mammadzadeh on “Azerbaijan Republic and the Philosophy of Enlightenment”, Deputy Director of the Institute of Manuscripts after Muhammad Fuzuli on Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Pasha Karimov on "Issues of Modern Education in the Nasib Bay Yusifbayli “Taslim””.
