The prestigious journal "Antiquity" University of Cambridge published an article about the archaeological work carried out in Azerbaijan

The article “Human mobility and early sedentism: the Late Neolithic landscape of southern Azerbaijan” published by a British journal, is devoted to the results of the Azerbaijani-German international expedition in the Mil-Karabakh region in 2009-2015.

The article describes the important steps have been taken to study the prehistoric period of the South Caucasus, the dynamics of the Neolithic way of life within the framework of the international projects “Ancient Kura” and “Kura in Motion”. The article summarizes the results of comprehensive and consistent research conducted on the territory of monuments in Azerbaijan and Georgia. During the excavations on the Mil Plain were fixed 174 monuments of different periods.

The article also tells about Garabel Tepe (MPS 18) in the Garasu basin and the ancient settlements of Kamiltepe. It is reported that, during the excavations were discovered two rooms, built of brick and built-in partitions, as well as earthenware, including painted ware. The article also provides information on a brick platform found during excavations in the village of Neolithic Kamiltepe. 2nd similar structure wasn’t found in the South Caucasus.

Note that, the co-authors of the article are head of the Field Research Sector of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, an archeologist, Ph.D. in History Tevekkul Aliev, emploeer of the University of Kiel Germany, Dr. Andrea Ricci, emploeer of Freie Universitet Berlin Maria Bianca D'Anna and member at the University of Sydney Barbara Helwing.
