Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A memorial event on "Patriotism is the basis of moral dignity of the nation" dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy was organized by the Women's Council of Azerbaijan.

Participants of the event firstly visited the Alley of Martyrs and honored the memory of martyrs and laid flowers on their graves.

At the memorial even, which was held at the Central Scientific Library attended by Presidents and Board members of scientific institutions and ANAS organizations.

In the beginning, a minute of silence has honored the memory of martyrs.

Chairman of ANAS Women's Council, Professor Mirzazadeh Rena said that, the 20 January tragedy is the triumph of the independence war, national will and freedom that the Azerbaijani people have been facing for many years.

Head of the Department of Spirituality and Science of ANAS Women's Council, Doctor of Philosophy Ziba Aghayeva delivered a paper on "Patriotism and Spirituality". She noted that, the first political assessment of the tragedy on January 20 was given by national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Then, employees of ANAS institutes delivered reports on the events on January 20.
